About Moxie Girl Musings

Moxie Girl Musings is about starting over from square one after tragedy impacted my young family. It's filled with stories of triumph, struggle, snafus, hopes, and dreams. Sometimes there will be features from other writers that I like and every so often I'll include an original short story, but normally I simply write what's on my mind at the time. Welcome to my unfiltered true-life story as I figure out this thing called life. http://www.amberleaeaston.com

He snagged her wrist before she could get up, even though he knew he should let her go. "From what I know, there's nothing wannabe about you. Trust me, I've known a few and you don't fit the profile."

"You don't know me...let's not lose sight of what we're really doing here." Her green eyes filled with tears before she slipped from his grasp.

"The rose bush tattoo is for my sister, Ali, who died a long time ago. She was a fucked up addict who destroyed a lot of lives and got used up in the process," he admitted.

She blinked at him, mouth falling open with surprise at his rare personal admission, and leaned forward as if waiting to hear more.

"The rose bush—beauty and thorns," he said without looking away from her face.

Damn, Lexi reminded him of his sister, more than he'd wanted to acknowledge until now. Not the out-of-control and lost sister that he'd known at the end, but the beautiful, smart, and kind woman she'd been before it had all gone to shit—the one no one seemed to remember but him.
Feeling self-conscious at his confesssion, he focused on the waves smashing against the shoreline. He'd never told one other person what his tattoo meant and wasn't sure why he'd decided to do so now. He and Lexi were a temporary fling, nothing more.

He drank his coffee and wished he could rewind the past few minutes.

"I really like you, Larry Gibbon," she said, her hand curving over his thigh. "Not only do you have a heart of gold, you fuck like a goddamn machine and I can't get enough of how you make me feel."

He spit coffee all over the sand and sputtered when it blew back on his face. Damn, he hadn't expected her to say anything remotely like that.

"See ya inside, Captain, My Captain. I'll leave you to do whatever it is you were doing before I interrupted." She jumped to her feet and strode toward his yellow cottage on his deserted beach.

He didn't know her, he couldn't argue that, but he'd seen her leaning precariously off the edge of a catamaran and whooping at the sky from the thrill. He'd felt her passion and witnessed her fear. And damn if she didn't keep surprising him from moment to moment.

If he had to describe her in one word, it would be relentless.

He liked relentless.

Nothing bad happens in paradise...or does it?

Lexi Dubois is in trouble. On Grand Cayman for business, she discovers the company she's been working for is funding a human trafficking ring—and the money trail leads back to her. Scared for her life, she charters a boat for a week to hide from the men on the small island who want her dead and to buy time to find enough evidence to take them down. The last thing she expects—or wants—is a torrid affair with the hot captain and dive master.

Larry Gibbon has been running a charter dive boat operation in Grand Cayman for years. He's seen it all—and done his share of creating havoc. But when a mysterious woman charters his boat for a week—alone—he has no idea what trouble she's bringing aboard.

The ocean is vast and unforgiving, but will Larry's knowledge of the Cayman Islands and Lexi's relentless determination to survive be enough to save them?

**The Wanderlust Series consists of stand-alone adventure romance novels. Occasionally, characters from previous novels may make a cameo, but each story truly does stand on its own merits.
