About Moxie Girl Musings

Moxie Girl Musings is about starting over from square one after tragedy impacted my young family. It's filled with stories of triumph, struggle, snafus, hopes, and dreams. Sometimes there will be features from other writers that I like and every so often I'll include an original short story, but normally I simply write what's on my mind at the time. Welcome to my unfiltered true-life story as I figure out this thing called life. http://www.amberleaeaston.com

Love Under the Sun for #NewYearsEve #ScintillatingSunday

Her ex is marrying someone else on New Year's Eve. Rather than endure the wedding of the century back home, she's in Belize on a solo vacation with only one thing on her agenda: FUN.
The last thing she expects to find on a sandy island is a man who makes her question her desire for anonymity.
Welcome to the Scintillating Sunday Blog Hop where multiple romance and erotic romance authors share 8 paragraphs of their work that captures the word "scintillating". Checking out the holiday romance adventure novella, Anonymity. Are you ready for a good time? I hope so because Alyssa and Luke are all about having fun.

"What are you doing?" She glanced around for snakes or crocodiles or anything that could kill them.

He pressed her back against the stone and kissed her breathless. His hand shimmied beneath the tank top and closed over her breast.

"You have a thing for public places, don't you? It's probably illegal. You're going to get us thrown into jail." She laughed even as her fingers twisted into the back of his hair to hold him close while his mouth trailed heated kisses down the side of her neck.

"I can hear that call back home now," he said against her skin, "hey, Mom, I need bail money because I was arrested for having sex in a Mayan ruin."

"You're crazy." She grabbed his face and pulled his mouth back to hers.

They clung to each other in a hungry embrace and groped each other through their clothes.

"I needed a taste. It's been hours." He lifted her tank top and bared one of her breasts from her bra.

"Luke, stop. We're in the middle of a jungle with tour groups wandering around." She closed her eyes and dropped her head against the stone. It felt good being worshipped, which was exactly how he made her feel. Like a Mayan Goddess being cherished by a lover beneath a canopy of watchful eyes.

From the back cover...

Alyssa McNeil is through with romance. In Belize on a solo vacation designed to make her forget that her ex is marrying someone else on New Year's Eve, she's determined to break free of her comfort zone. Meeting Luke Picket falls perfectly into her plans for indulging fantasy, letting go of inhibition, and having uncomplicated fun under the sun. Falling in love with him is definitely not on the agenda.

Luke Picket is more than happy to go along with her idea of a no strings, first-name only weeklong fling. He embraces his solo lifestyle and can't see that changing any time soon. When they find themselves trekking through the jungle and facing turbulent seas together, the feelings he'd fought so hard to avoid in his life start stirring in his closed-off permanent bachelor heart.

But they'd agreed on anonymity, on a first-name-only-no-strings love affair, and neither wants to ruin the moment with unwanted declarations. Old beliefs are challenged. Doubts questioned. Will they stick to their deal and go their separate ways when the week is over? Or will the new year bring them a new attitude about love?

**Anonymity is book one of the Wanderlust Series, which is a series of romance adventure novels written as stand-alone books. In future stories, some characters may make cameo appearances, but all are true stand-alone novellas.

Great love story! I could feel the characters' "electric chemistry" jump right out of the pages...couldn't put the book down! Definitely rates up there as one of the best romance books I've ever read! A must read for anyone who loves romance(:

Passion Filled Vacation

Amber Lea Easton ("Easton") truly shines when it comes to giving her readers exactly what they want when it comes to romance; a novel full of passion and hot hot sex; and characters (both lead and supporting) who you'll fall in love with; all on a sandy beach with crystal-clear blue water as far as the eye can see. The author wields a terrific and engaging story, even thought-provoking at times, that's full of fun and desire that leaves you not only wishing it was you on that beach, but you who's being screwed hard against a palm tree by one very hot and sexy male specimen like Luke.

This is the second novel of Easton's I've read and it will most definitely not be my last. I was actually sad when the story ended; that it wasn't longer than 186 pages as I couldn't get enough. Thoughts of getting on a plane heading towards a tropical beach is all I can think of - that, and a palm tree.

Excellent romance, December 26, 2013

"Anonymity" by Amber Lea Easton is a great holiday romance, set in Belize between Christmas and New Year - coincidentally the same time that I read the novel.
Reading the novel about a no-strings attached one week fling between Alyssa and Luke was the perfect escapism, just like a sweet dream. The two make a pact not to talk about their real lives: What happens in Belize, stays in Belize. Or does it?
Sunshine, water, sex and jungle adventures are part of this fun-filled and lovely story. Besides the great main characters there are a few really well chosen others, such as the bar tender Rosie and Savannah, who also has the hots for Luke.
Well written and easy on the proverbial eye this is a very enjoyable and entertaining read that should please a wide audience.

The perfect romance with more than I thought possible, December 22, 2013

Thank you Amber Lea Easton for completely capturing the essence of romance. You have, yet again, set the bar high. This was the perfect book. The main characters were strong and well developed and I felt like I was in Belize. The best surprise was the connection to the secondary characters. I fell in love with Rosie and found myself rooting for Savannah. What a great story about new beginnings and living the way we all dream of.

Sometimes You Gotta Come Out Swinging for What You Want #Romance #ScintillatingSunday

They fell in love in a war zone, but then the world blew up and splintered their lives in two.
Reckless Endangerment
The story of a wounded US Marine who thinks his wife would be better of letting him go and the woman who is willing to do anything for their love.
Coming home again isn't always easy
Welcome to the Scintillating Sunday Blog Hop where multiple romance and erotic romance authors share 8 paragraphs of their work. Today we're checking out the romantic suspense novel, Reckless Endangerment.

“Screw you.” She wanted to shake him, make him see that he was wasting away like this. She’d been so lonely without him, had ached for him, and had been tortured by his silence. “I’m done giving into your wishes. I left you alone for five months and went through my own personal hell because of it. No more.”

“I hate you.”

“I love you.”

“I wish I’d never met you.”

“Me, too, damn it.” She looked at him, no longer strong enough to stop a tear from escaping. “But we did meet. We loved each other. We got married on a cliff in Greece with our friends by our side and we laughed through our vows because we were so goddamn happy. I’m not leaving here until you acknowledge that. You married me. You loved me.”

“The man you loved died a long time ago.”

Frustration clawed inside her skull, aching for the right words that would break his resolve. She rubbed trembling hands over her hips and struggled for clarity. This was one argument she intended on winning...and it had been a long time coming.

“None of us are who we were. Do you think I’m the same person I was before seeing my best friend killed? Before stepping over Marishka’s body and the bodies of her murdered children?  Before seeing you face down in the dirt? Do you think I don’t see corpses in my sleep? Do you think that hasn’t changed me?”

From the back cover...

Sometimes heroes fall and take their loved ones down with them.

Colonel Michael Cedars and reporter Hope Shane fell in love in a warzone, but then the world blew up and splintered their lives in two.

Coming home again isn't always easy.

A Marine accustomed to giving orders, Michael struggles to find his role in civilian life. Wounded, he faces new battles as he learns to walk again, struggles with wartime ghosts, and questions his abilities as a husband.

Love worth fighting for.

Hope doesn't give up—not on the man she loves and not on her pursuit of justice. An investigative reporter, she's hot on the trail of a human trafficking ring. Danger intensifies as she gets closer to the truth, but the human traffickers know her weakness. Will Michael become her Achilles Heel? Is he still the hero she married or has he become a liability that could get them both killed?
